The special agents of the National Anti-Drug Secretariat (SENAD), in collaboration with prosecutor Manuel Rojas, have arrested Willians Segovia Mereles in Ciudad del Este, suspected of sending 3 kilograms of cocaine to France hidden in porcelain items. According to reports, Segovia Mereles allegedly provided false information about his identity and address when sending the package from a location in Alto Paraná, triggering a series of investigations that led to his detention.
During the search of a house in the Ciudad Nueva neighborhood of Ciudad del Este, located at the intersection of 25 de Diciembre Avenue and 24 de Mayo, the arrest was made as part of the inquiries related to a drug trafficking case detected at Silvio Pettirossi International Airport in November 2023. SENAD aims to identify other individuals linked to this alleged criminal organization specialized in international drug trafficking, keeping the investigation active to dismantle the network behind this drug shipment attempt abroad.
The investigation began after the shipment containing cocaine was discovered during routine checks at the airport.
