Olimpia Draws in a Tight Match

The match between Vélez and Olimpia from Paraguay ended in a 1-1 draw in an exciting encounter corresponding to the fourth round of Group H of the Copa Libertadores. The goal for Vélez was scored by Maher Carrizo in the 33rd minute of the first half, while Hugo Fernández equalized for Olimpia in the 47th minute of the second half.

In a key play, Olimpia managed to equalize the score thanks to Hugo Fernández after an excellent collective play. Although referee Raphael Claus awarded a penalty to the Paraguayans for a foul by Emanuel Mammana, the decision was invalidated due to an earlier offside.

With this result, Vélez is positioned first in Group H with 7 points, the same as Peñarol from Uruguay. Next Wednesday, Vélez will face San Antonio Bulo Bulo from Bolivia in their next commitment in the Copa Libertadores.

On the other hand, Olimpia is in the last position of the group with 2 points and will have to wait for a miracle to advance to the next round. In their next match, Olimpia will visit Peñarol at the same date and time as Vélez.

Highlighting the development of the game, young Maher Carrizo received a pass from Francisco Pizzini inside the area and with an excellent finish managed to beat the goalkeeper, tipping a match that at times presented difficulties for the team from Liniers.
