Indi President Justifies Office Move Amid Rejection

The president of the National Institute for Indigenous Peoples (Indi), Juan Ramón Benegas, explained that the relocation of the institution's offices to the city of Caaguazú is a temporary measure, despite the rejection from the Municipal Council of Ñemby.

In a clarification regarding the decision, Benegas confirmed that the mission dependencies of Indi will move to Caaguazú. The president urged the residents of Ñemby to remain calm and insisted that this is a temporary measure.

"We understand the concerns of the population, but it is important for them to know that this move is necessary to optimize the work of Indi and bring us closer to indigenous communities more effectively," Benegas stated.

The head of Indi assured that necessary measures are being taken to ensure that the institution's work is not affected during the relocation. He also emphasized that once the relocation in Caaguazú is completed, attention and support will continue to be provided efficiently to all indigenous communities.
