Lorena Canan, 45 years old and with 23 years of service, has been elected as the first president in the history of the Volunteer Firefighters of Paraguay (CBVP) in its 47 years of existence. Canan takes on the role with the responsibility of leading this important entity, which admitted its first female members in 1993.

"It is an honor and a challenge to assume this presidency in such an important institution for our country. My goal is to continue strengthening the work of volunteer firefighters and promote the active participation of women in this field," said Canan after her appointment.
