A flight of the airline Copa that was scheduled to depart from Silvio Pettirossi International Airport in Paraguay early this morning and bound for Panama was delayed after a passenger became violent. Rubén Aguilar, director of Airports of the National Directorate of Civil Aviation (Dinac), told media outlets in the country that a Copa flight scheduled to depart at 1:50 AM was halted because a passenger attacked a crew member and a National Police agent in the boarding area. Aguilar stated that the incident occurred when the passenger in question, who was accompanied by his parents, was about to board. As a result, the flight had to be suspended at that moment, and the crew was ordered to undergo a medical check before resuming service. It was detailed that the flight was postponed until after noon. Regarding the individual, Aguilar affirmed that he would not fly again and expressed regret that this incident occurred, the reason for which is still under investigation.
