Severe Weather Alert in Paraguay

The Directorate of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) issued a special bulletin this Tuesday, alerting about the arrival of rain and thunderstorms that will affect several departments in the interior of the country. The expected rains will be of moderate to strong intensity, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusts of wind. The population is advised to take precautions, especially in areas where hail is forecasted to fall.

The areas affected by this climatic phenomenon are the center, west, and south of Concepción; the north of San Pedro; the west of Amambay; the northeast of Presidente Hayes; the northwest of Alto Paraguay, and the north of Boquerón. According to the DMH bulletin, storm nuclei continue to develop and severe weather phenomena could occur at various points during the early hours of the night.

The report indicates that adverse weather conditions will intensify throughout the afternoon and night, with forecasts of strong wind gusts and the occasional possibility of hail. The weather alert covers both the Eastern and Western regions of the country, with special emphasis on six departments in the north and center, highlighting the possibility of hail in some areas on an isolated basis.

Once the precipitation decreases, an improvement in the environmental conditions of the affected areas is expected, providing a more pleasant environment after the storms pass.
