The Paraguayan team Cerro Porteño defeated Monagas from Venezuela 3-1 in the second leg of the Copa Libertadores qualifying round. The match took place at the La Nueva Olla stadium in Asunción.

Diego León and Jorge Morel scored goals for Cerro Porteño at 19 and 49 minutes respectively in the first half. Wilder Viera added the third goal for the hosts 6 minutes into the second half. Meanwhile, Tomás Rodríguez had given the visitors the lead with a goal 4 minutes into the match.

The team coached by Diego Martínez, who previously coached Boca Juniors, had already established a significant advantage in the first leg by winning 4-0. This victory added to an aggregate score of 7-1 in favor of Cerro Porteño, securing their advancement to the next stage of the preliminary rounds of the Copa Libertadores.

In the next stage, the Paraguayan team will face the winner of the series between Melgar and Tolima, where the Peruvian team achieved a 1-0 victory as visitors in the first match.
