The final of the International Supercup between River Plate and Talleres will take place on Wednesday, March 5, at the Nueva Olla stadium in Paraguay. The Argentine Football Association confirmed that the match will be held at 8 PM. This is the second edition of the cup and a great clash between both teams is expected.
River Plate arrives at this final after being crowned champion of the Professional Football League Tournament in 2023 under the management of Martín Demichelis. Additionally, the team won the Champions Trophy in the same year. Talleres, on the other hand, secured a place in the competition by finishing first in the overall standings last year.
The first edition of the International Supercup took place in 2023 and saw Racing face Boca in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. Both River and Talleres are looking to add this title to their trophy cabinet and start the 2025 season successfully. However, both teams must also focus on the Apertura Tournament.
The Apertura Tournament will hold its seventh round this weekend, where River Plate will visit San Martín de San Juan on Saturday at 9:30 PM, and Talleres will face Deportivo Riestra on Friday at 5 PM. The match between River and Talleres is expected to be just as exciting as in the first edition, where Racing was crowned champion by defeating Boca 2-1.
