In the first viral video on the Internet, a couple of kids try to cross through some branches over a stream. When it’s the second boy's turn, his friend starts moving the logs and he falls into the water. The spontaneity with which the video was filmed made it go viral immediately, reaching over 80 million views in a few hours.
"¡Ya Wey!", is heard saying Edgar, the second boy, while his friend tries to lift the log. This phrase became historic and after nearly 18 years since its publication, many wonder what happened to the young man who jumped to fame. In addition to appearing on Mexican television shows, Edgar became the face of several brands, but he also had to face mockery.
After the video went viral, Edgar created a YouTube channel to continue enjoying his fame. Now, at 30 years old, he receives messages of support on social media from those who remember him. Although little is known about his current life, through his Instagram account, one can see how he enjoys his day-to-day with friends, recalling the moment of his fall more than four years ago.
"It saddens me this type of situation instead of making me laugh, but I’m glad to know that Edgar is fine and did not suffer any trauma," he shared on his Instagram account.
