The final of the Conmebol Sudamericana will take place on Saturday, November 23, in Asunción, and it is expected to generate an economic injection of approximately USD 50 million for Paraguay, according to Conmebol itself. This figure would represent a 72% increase compared to the revenue generated by the final of the 2019 edition, which also took place in the capital of the country, where revenues of USD 28.8 million were recorded, according to data from MF Consulting.
"A large part of the USD 50 million estimated by Conmebol is related to tourism or its related services and products," noted Víctor Chamorro, director of Meeting Tourism of the National Tourism Secretariat (Senatur), in statements to La Nación/Nación Media.
This important economic contribution is expected to come mainly from tourism and services related to this sporting event.
