The legal team of Thaira Montero, who was declared not guilty in the case of the doll in the coffin, highlighted that there was no affectation to public faith, nor were any of the indicated crimes committed. Lezcano said that all those bank transfers are in the file. In addition, they have lamented that Montero was convicted in the media, despite being the victim in a story where only one version has been known. Also, according to the lawyer, the young woman would have received insults if she did not transfer the money. "When that young man started threatening her, the solution for the lady was to maintain that pregnancy to safeguard her life and reputation, it was her way of responding to a problem she saw," Lezcano pointed out. He also revealed that the one receiving economic benefits was the supposed victim, not Mrs. Tahira, contradicting the media narrative. In this sense, lawyer Ajoortt Lezcano, part of the defense, said that the ruling was in law, based on the total absence of evidence to sustain any of the accusations. According to Lezcano, Thaira would have made bank transfers for more than 1,800 dollars to the supposed father and his family. "He asked her for an iPhone, clothes, among other gifts that were exposed in a hearing," he highlighted. Thaira's lawyer stressed "that everything she has written can be proven since it is in the audios and videos of the hearings." Likewise, she specified that the events occurred during a period of vulnerability, when she was going through a temporary separation in her marriage. She also recalled that, in the middle of this process, Thaira's mother died of a heart attack, as a consequence of the suffering caused by the accusations and the media exposure. "They asked her for money, even to buy beer."
